A major focus of NCAST is promoting awareness of safety issues specific to younger motorists.
Teen drivers are especially at risk on the roads, with vehicle crashes the leading cause of death in America among those under 21.
The inexperience and impulsiveness of teen drivers is a significant reason for their high crash rates, making important the safety features of the vehicles they drive as well as getting plenty of supervised driving practice.
Our Mission
SPOTLIGHT:
TEEN DRIVER SAFETY WEEK
NCAST promotes awareness of driving safety issues in general, and our organization recognizes the unique dangers specific to younger motorists. Teens with limited driving experience are especially at risk on the roads, with vehicle crashes the leading cause of death in America among those under 21.
During National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 15th-21st, NCAST is encouraging teens to take the BeSafe Pledge –to avoid distractions while driving, to learn and obey all traffic laws, and to urge their friends do the same. Those who pledge this week will be eligible to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card!
So take the Pledge, tell your friends and classmates to do the same for a chance on a little extra incentive to be safer behind the wheel.
See teens talk about common driving distractions on our latest public service awareness campaign.
