NATIONAL WORK ZONE AWARENESS WEEK
NCAST is partnering with Flagger Force to spread awareness about National Work Zone Awareness Week. NWZAW is an annual spring campaign held throughout the United States at the start of the construction season to encourage safe driving through work zones.
As the leading traffic control company in the eastern United States, Flagger Force has supported this important awareness campaign for close to a decade alongside departments of transportation, clients, and industry partners.
Slow Down
The majority of work zone accidents are caused by excessive speed. Make sure you are traveling at the posted zone speed to be safe.
Avoid Distractions
Work zones can be unpredictable. While a driver should never be distracted, make sure the driver in your vehicle is focused on their task.
Obey All Signs
Signs, flaggers and patience are the keys to navigating work areas safely. Observing these advance warnings will keep you informed of upcomig hazards.

A major focus of NCAST is promoting awareness of safety issues specific to younger motorists.
Teen drivers are especially at risk on the roads, with vehicle crashes the leading cause of death in America among those under 21.
The inexperience and impulsiveness of teen drivers is a significant reason for their high crash rates, making important the safety features of the vehicles they drive as well as getting plenty of supervised driving practice.
